The match got off to a fast start with three goals in the opening 11 minutes. The home team twice took the lead with a free kick from the right wing leading to an own goal and a good finish from James Tattersfield put them 2-1 up, with an equaliser from Dan Thompson in between.
Rangers extended their lead in the 36th minute when Tattersfield got on the end of a fifty-fifty ball ahead of the goalkeeper, which saw the keeper suffer a serious injury and was taken to hospital following the clash. Following a long delay, Clevo pulled a goal back with Sarkodie heading home in added time. After a flurry of goals, the second half was a tighter affair, with the only strike coming late on when Thompson fired home a 30 yard free kick to level it at three-each.
